This place is walking distance from my parent's house, so we've gone there quite a few times when we want something quick and decent. The food isn't knock-out, so don't expect much. it has a really standard American menu with a few touches of southwestern (basically, don't expect a true southwestern menu). The atmosphere is really why I enjoy this place. It's small and lit nicely and features a pretty cool bar area. The service is always so-so (maybe a tad on the slow side). Make sure you eat upstairs...if they try and send you downstairs, it kinda feels like a bad wedding reception (which is actually the area they use for group gatherings...it's actually pretty nice for that). We'll keep going back because it's close, but it's probably not anywhere I'd drive a distance to visit.

I so want to like this place, it is walking distance. But we never have a great experience in the 15 years we have lived here. The food was hot is the only great thing. They used table salt on the rim of the margarita, the guacamole was grayish, and the lettuce and tomato on the steak tacos was put on after they were heated making the texture horrible. I couldn't even make it through one. For a better meal and service head to Greek Jalapeño on Cooley Lake Road or for great Mexican food head to Huerto's on Orchard Lake Road. Don't waste your time here.

Why I haven't been here before is beyond me. I'm so glad I found this place! Don't expect anything fancy. Coyote is a place that the employees are laid back, yet so friendly. They don't sugar coat anything, they'll tell ya like it is.. This place is full of regulars, it's so obvious. The Cadillac Margarita!! OMG!! Best ever!! and the bonus - no heartburn.. I've been looking for a decent rib joint, and I've found it. Most BBQ places you go to do the dry rub and let you add your sauce. I like the messy cooked on kind.. Don't worry, wet naps are provided :) the baked potato is perfect, and the clam chowder, thanks to Chris, the bartender I'll always add tobasco sauce - it's amazing!!! My friend ordered the burrito, it was ginormous and delish! Our second visit - I ordered the exact same thing, but it was a different soup that night - beef barley, meh.. My friend ordered the club sandwich, with fries - no complaints.. If you sit at a table, you get chips and salsa..why not at the bar? You'll find just about anything on their menu - burgers, sandwiches, BBQ, and southwestern dishes. I'm so glad I gave Coyote a chance, I think we'll be friends for awhile!!!!

Nasty food, terrible service. Me and my friends go here because its close and cheap, and good food as well. But it seems like 2 out of 3 times we get a waitress or waiter that is just rude and gives us dirty looks when we ask for a split bill. One time, the waitress went ahead and crossed out our total and added the tip to it, she didn't ask to do it, she added it like it was part of the total. Overall, it's just a gross and greasy establishment, and the service needs to be improved. And maybe even a new menu with more choices, or a desperately needed renovation.

The Ground meat from the burgers always has bone fragments. I usually got the burger and always bit into a little hard piece of something. After gagging, it turned out to be a bone fragment. This shows poor quality meats and the burgers have bones EVERY single time. Will never return.

Pretty average.. food isnt the best.. Has a lot of potential but appears run down for some reason. Customer serv is great. Only reason we go here is because it is so close to my friend's house.

Just horrible all around. The food here is just ordinary. There is no flair or originality (tacos, nachos, burritos, fajitas) and frankly it just is not that good. Zero originality, zero effort and zero flavor. Think smashed up cheeseburger in a tortilla. Tex-Mex is simple. If you are going to have a simple menu, at least try for greatness. Practice the basics and do them well. Again, at least try. Careful bringing the kids with you as the "blue" language from the bar drifts into the diner providing for an uncomfortable family experience. The bar is one of the only places around so it has a regular "local" crowd for Bud Lights every night. Go elsewhere for Mexican food.

Just had dinner. Bland is not the word. There was absolutely no flavor. A chicken dinner, a steak and chicken fajita dinner, and a beef burrito all came to our table. The chicken was dry lacked flavor, the baked potato was undercooked, and soggy green beens from a can were served with the meal. The beef burrito was large with rice and refried beans, but all were bland. The steak and chicken fajitas were the same. The steak lacked any flavor and seemed to be a lesser quality of meat. The chicken also lacked flavor. The side plate came with the usual fajita toppings with rice and refried beans. The toppings looked quite suspect, the shredded lettuce was brown and wilted. The waitstaff was friendly enough, however they lacked real enthusiasm. The place needs an intervention.

Substandard. The chips & salsa: Almost-stale chips, winter-tomato salsa - asked for hotter salsa, got what seemed like way-too-smoky barbeque sauce. My burrito was stewed chicken with mystery sauce wrapped in a tortilla then topped with, I think, canned Mole sauce & flavorless cheese. Her perch was incompletely cooked. We made better Margaritas on our 21st birthdays. The steak fries were pretty good.

Food is affordable and good. The burritos is great. The chips and salsa that you get at the table are homemade so a nice trade up from most places.

It's really close to our daughter's school and it's her favorite place. We order the fajitas trio with shrimp, chicken & steak. It's enough for our family of three! And the homemade salsa is THE BEST!

The Coyote is a good place to kick back and enjoy company without the high dollar layout. The staff is friendly and the Bartenders are colorful.

This place had a good design but, the food was terrible and even though we sad in non smoking it still stunk! There is a really cute pond in the non-smoking lower level but unfortunately was empty and filled with garbage. It has potential to be better.

Coyote's right up the road from us and we're there fairly often for informal meals -- log cabinish feel, friendly servers, generous portions and very reasonably priced. As a for instance, they have a whole slab of ribs and greek salad for two for about $22.00 -- that starts with their standard chips and salsa bowl. Good value. If you're a Tex-Mex aficionado, you might be a bit more critical of their menu contenders, but it's not bad. Cocktails are generous -- maybe a little underpopulated staff-wise, but we're usually not in a big hurry when at Coyote. I give it 3.75 stars at least!!

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
